Altjira-Alcheringa and the Life Path

As explained in an earlier article, Altjira-Alcheringa is a dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt. It was named Altjira in 2001, as a KBO – Kuiper Belt Object. It has an orbit of 297 years around the Earth. It is named after the Divinity, the God of the Arrernte (or Aranda/Arunta) peoples, in Central Australia whose traditional lands span 120,000 square kilometres in Central Australia, centered around Mparntwe (Alice Springs). It is not one object, but thought to be three objects bound together in orbit, a rare arrangement in the heavens. As it is named after God, this somewhat renders intimations of the Trimurthi (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva) or the Trinity of the Christian religion.

Dreamtime

Being a Divinity of the Dreamtime Altjira-Alcheringa exists everywhen: there is no time, the days and years have no numbers. The Dreamtime represents the seamless connection between humankind and Divinity. There is no separation: all are of the one nature, and share in a participation mystique with the Divine life in the Dreamtime. The Dreamtime has its archetypes, spirit beings such as Biame, Bunjil, Rainbow Serpent, and the various totemic ancestors that oversight the life of the human.

Dreamtime is an Aboriginal English word used to describe the religion or spirituality of Aboriginal Australians. It is a philosophy, a cosmology, a worldview and a way of life that explains how the world was created and our relationship to each other. While some say it isn’t a proper translation of traditional terms like Lalai, Nyitting or Tjurrkupa (pronounced as Djoogaba), It conjures up a magical and mysterious world. It aligns perfectly with a common idea in many world religions that God is unknowable, beyond words or human understanding. This explains why the Wandjina Beings from the Kimberley are portrayed with no mouths. This is like the Tetragrammaton (the four-letter biblical name YWHW) in Jewish culture, which is a symbol for the God of Israel as his true name is deemed unutterable.
 

This practice reveals an incredible sense of awe and respect for something far greater than ourselves. The Dreamtime approach to describing ‘God’ or its many gods and goddesses is similar. Sometimes the name is so sacred that it is whispered, or else the deity is given a symbol. Names are held in high regard by aboriginal people who are aware of the power of language. So, Aboriginal people totally understand where Jewish people are coming from using the Tetragrammaton.

Life Path

Everyone is born with a planned life path. This life path is sometimes called the soul contract. It is populated with the Dreamtime God, the totemic ancestor we relate to, our personal myths which generate the automatic thoughts within the mind. This soul contract has a self-fulfilling nature, for all people draw to them experiences and events that reflect what is within them. The Dreamtime, as expressed in Altjira Astrology has a path to healing, a narrative of healing the human person, body and spirit. We are all spiritual beings having a human experience.

The relevance of Altjira Astrology is that it gives account of human birth, the circumstances we grow in, the nature of our physical embodiment and the tendencies or desires that come inborn in our minds. It is these tendencies or desires (called vasana) that give rise to personal myths and automatic thoughts.
